Plan walks around comfort, weather and recovery
Distance is only one part of an outing; conditions and the individual dog matter throughout.
Start with the setting
Choose suitable times and surfaces, carry water and keep the route flexible. Flat-faced, older or unwell dogs may need additional veterinary guidance.
Make the routine practical
Watch breathing, pace and willingness to continue. Stop activity and get veterinary help when there is concerning distress; do not wait for a timer to finish.
Review and adapt
Use the walking planner to divide a time budget you have chosen. It does not calculate a medically safe exercise allowance.
Keep a useful record
Write down what you tried, what changed and what you want to ask next. Community discussion can share experience, while individual health or behavior concerns need appropriately qualified help.
